Creamy Buttermilk Dressing and Salads

I cannot think of a better time to start a diet than the summer. All the fruits and vegetables are at their peek, and the weather being so warm, its the perfect time for salads. I love salad. Almost any kind of salad. Never met a salad I did not like. Lately I have been eating lots of salad. Here is my most favorite of all salads

This salad has all my favorites included. Here is the list

Organic Spring Mix greens

cubed grilled chicken

tomato's

cabbage

avocado

green onions

black olives

sunflower seeds

black ground pepper

homemade buttermilk dressing

This salad is just so good. Down to the very last bite. I think what makes it so tasty tonight, is the new buttermilk dressing I made for it. The diet that I am on does not allow me to have regular vinegar or sugar. Most of the store dressings have both. So I thought I would be able to add lower amounts and use more natural ingredients by making my own dressing. This recipe is more on the lower side of carbs, but not carb free. Buttermilk and Yogart both have carbs and sugar, but with this recipe, there is small amount per serving. With me, its mix this, taste, mix in that, taste again. I taste till I get it just the way I want it. So here are the ingredients and amounts to the best of my memory.

Creamy Buttermilk Dressing

3/4 cup half/half

1/2 cup buttermilk

2 tablespoon size dollops of plain low fat yogurt

1 8oz of sour cream

2 tablespoon lemon juice

1 tablespoon Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar

1 large garlic clove pressed

1 tablespoon dried chives

1 tablespoon onion powder

1 teaspoon course black pepper

1 packet truvia sweetener

1 teaspoon of paprika or Old Bay seasoning

Salt to taste.

Mix all ingredients in order, mixing each one separately. Chill in refrig. Enjoy!!!

Feel free to make changes to your liking. I really don't think there is any way to mess this dressing up. Its just so tasty!!!
