Recipe Page Swap

I finally did something I have been wanting to do for a while. I signed up for a recipe page swap at my local L.S.S. store. The first theme is desserts since Valentines is around the corner. I do love desserts. It is my favorite section to any recipe book. We were to make it in a 6x6 size and we needed 3 embellishments and cardstock. My apple is made from my Cricut, using the cartridge "DoodleCharms" I used green, brown, black, and red paper to make the apple and then pieced it together, and shaded the edges with black prisma pencil. I made corners with paper, eyelets, and ribbon for my other embellies. The font is from my computer and it is called "Evergreen" The recipe is one of my favorite Pampered Chef recipes. This was a fun recipe page to make and I look forward to the exchange and getting 10 different ones back.

Ummmm.... Warm Soup on a Cold Day!!!

I know this post almost seems like a duplicate of another post, but because of the cold, I had to make myself some more homemade soup. This time I made Chicken and Rice, because I had left over Chicken and Rice from a previous dinner. I just hated to let it go to waste, so what else do you do with left over Chicken and Rice?? You make Soup of course!!! I thought I would share the recipe in case you were craving soup as well. I made enough soup to last several days.

Left over Chicken and Rice OR......

1 whole chicken boiled and deboned (save the broth) or 1 large can of chopped chicken

1 box of instant brown or white rice
I then added...

3 cups or cans of chicken broth

1 can of cream of chicken or cream of mushroom

1 cup of milk

basil to taste

salt to taste

pepper to taste

Chop up the chicken into small pieces. Add broth to stock pot and then bring to a boil. Add in rice and cook till tender. Add in chicken, cream of chicken soup, milk and seasons. Simmer for 45 minutes. If you like it more soupy, than add more broth.
I know this post almost seems like a duplicate of another post, but because of the cold, I had to make myself some more of that homemade soup. This time I made Chicken and Rice. I thought I would share the recipe in case you were craving soup as well.

Over the Weekend

My DH got started on the renovation of Raggedy Ann (aka Travel Trailer) He said there was defiantly more water damage than he had expected, but not so much that he could not repair without taking it completely apart. Here are pictures of what he is doing The rotted wood that he removed. As he removed the skin from the back, he found a nest of yellow jackets that had hibernated in between the skin and the trailer wall. He said they just fell out on to the ground kicking and squirming. ICK!!! Here he is painting the bumper. Not sure why he is doing this at this early of the renovations stage. Maybe he just did not know what else at this point to do. LOL!!! So we have a nice bumper now. Yippy!!! This is a picture of the inside lower paneling. Lots of damage. He will have to put in a new sheet of paneling.
Can't remember why I took these next two pictures. I think to show the damage of the floor which you cannot see to much. Oh well....
At least he has started and we are a step closer to taking it out. I told him today I probably should have named it the Ugly Duckling, because the outside with all of its blemishes will be ugly, but the inside will be a beautiful Swan.

So onward to more stuff. We had our first SU Monthly Scrapbook Class this past Friday night and it was a blast. We all just felt so at home with our new friend/SU Demostator Tonya. You can go see the wonderful scrapbook pages that she helped us to create. What a talented lady she is. I cannot wait to see what she plans for next month.

Saturday the Sistah's had their 2nd Monthly "All Day Crop" What a great time we had together. I actually got some stuff done this time which is very surprising considering the fact that I was up and down all day. I made 7 very easy peasy layouts of my Sons school pictures. Now mind you he is 21 now, and so that will give you a idea of how behind I am on my scrapbooking. Also these are do-overs. I had made them into 8 1/2 x 11 way back in the day before 12x12 and when 12x12 came along I told myself "Self, you are going to redo these one day, cause you really do love 12x12." Well self was right. I did redo them, and I do love them more now!!!

Again these layouts are very simple, very flat, and used mostly stickers for my embellishments. I am trying very hard to use the 3 containers of stickers I have acquired over the years and trying even harder to keep my pages easy and simple so that I can get some stuff completed!!!

Sunday my husband and I spent the entire afternoon and evening with our wonderful friends Debbie and Ken. We ate lunch at a place we had never eaten, we shopped at a store we have never shopped, and we went to our favorite sporting goods store Cabala's. We then did some shopping at Walmart, had dinner at Subway, and then back home to finish the evening playing domino's. I do love spending time with this couple. We have such great fun with them.

THE END!!!!!!

My Messy Scrapbook room

My friend Tonya thinks she has a mess. Girlfriend you are not alone. Here is my scrapbook mess. This is what happens to a scrapbook room when you are in a hurry to get somewhere with a project in hand. So I did go in today and do some cleaning and I plan to do some more tomorrow. I had my husband add some more shelves to my wall. I needed to go higher and make more room for more stuff. LOL!!! Hopefully I will be able to post my clean scrapbook room in the next few days. (scratching my head)

Broccoli Cheese Soup

The cold makes me crave soup. So today for lunch I made the best Broccoli Cheese soup ever. I just threw in some of my favorite soup ingredients that I had handy and it turned out so yummy.

Beanie's Broccoli Cheese Soup

1 bag of frozen Broccoli cuts

1 small Velveeta cheese block cut in cubes

3 cans of chicken broth

1 can of cream of chicken soup

1 can of mushroom cream soup

1/2 stick of butter

1 cup of milk

1 package of cheddar cheese

dash or 2 of pepper

dash or 2 of basil

Put everything in a pot and bring to a boil. Then turn heat to low and let simmer till Broccoli is tender. Be sure to stir often. Serve in bowl and sprinkle on cheddar cheese. Enjoy!!!

Happy New Year!!!!

Ok, I know its a little bit after the fact, but I have not gotten to say it to all my blog friends yet, so HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

So what have I been doing this year so far!!!

1. I went on a fun weekend retreat with some of my SistahChicks
2. I made a couple of new Raggedies
3. I started a new Rag quilt
4. I got a new little vintage travel trailer for a early birthday gift from my DH.
5. I went to stamp convention
6. I cropped with friends at my local scrapbook store
7. I went to see the movie "Marly and Me" (Excellant, most excellant movie)

Below are pictures of some of the stuff listed above!!

We had a blast at retreat. We made scrapbook pages, quilts, Raggedies, Cards, and did some sewing. Each of us had our own little project going and it was so cool to see all the different things everyone was creating. This was the sweetest part of the whole retreat. I finally got to eat one of my friends famous cupcakes. All I can say is Yum,Yum,Yum!!! I think out of the 3 times we have gone together, this was the best by far!!! I cannot wait for the next one.

These are my Raggedies that I made. I combined several patterns I had to make the body. The clothes I made myself. I also gave them to my friend for her Birthday. I know she will love them as much as I do!!! Below is pictures of my New/Old Vintage travel trailer. There is a story behind why I had to have one of these. I was one day watching the travel channel and saw a episode about I went to the website and instantly fell in love with the little decorated Vintage Trailers you see on this website. I knew right away I had to own one. I thought to myself that this would be so much fun if all my Sistah's got one of these little trailers and we took scrapbook trips like these ladies on this website. Just sounds like so much fun. Anyway, I am not sure that part will ever happen, but I have me a Vintage Trailer and I plan to have my DH totally remodel this little sweetie and make it my very own special Scrapbook Travel Trailer. I will be ready just in case that day comes. Anyone want to take a trip with me?

Here are the before pictures. I am sure it will take us a while to get it exactly like I want, but when we do, you can bet I will be posting the after pictures. Oh and this little trailer only cost $150.00 total. Is that not AWESOME!!! Look how cute!!!
Approximately 6x12. Perfect size for me to pull myself. It will sleep 3 adults comfortably.

This is what I did at our Friday night LSS crop. Its a Birthday Calender book from a class I took at least 2 years ago if not more. I started it then with the front and back. I finally finished the inside of the book. Very cute project. Just sorry it took so long to complete.
