I got this in the mail yesterday. What a wonderful treat. Its my new Cricut cartridge that I won from entering into the project spotlight for the newsletter. I never imagined I would actually win. Its really kind of exciting to get something for free. Especially a Cricut something!!!!
On the scrapbooking scene this week, I played around with my prisma pencils and baby oil.
I really like the results, but after doing several cards with it, I still think I like the mineral spirits better. I went back and forth all week trying to decide between the two techniques and what I discovered is that I am way to messy with the baby oil. It really blends well, but I had it all over me, my table and my project. It does not absorb and disappear like the mineral spirits does. If you spill the mineral spirits, it evaporates and no big deal. However, if you spill the baby oil, well you just have one big ole oily spot and a no easy to clean mess.
Well that's it for me. I know this is very short, but I just have been a lazy bum this week and nothing exciting has happened. Sometimes thats not a bad thing. That just means I had a very relaxing week.
Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!!!

I know in one of my previous post, I mentioned I was taking a cake decorating class. This past Thursday was our second class and I actually decorated my very first cake. What a Lucy moment that was. I had icing from one end of my kitchen to the other and all over my body from head to toe. My cake, which was suppose to be small, turned out to be huge, cause I poured my batter into 2, 9 inch pans, rather than 2, 8 inch pans. I did not figure there was much difference. Well, there was very much a difference. So, because there was not much batter after pouring into larger pans, I made more batter. Ok, so I forgot that cakes do the rising thing. DRRRRRRRR!!!! Its hard to think of everything. So when I open my oven to check on my cakes, I have mountains. UGGGGG!!!! Ok so no problem, I will just shave the tops off with my handy dandy, cake saw, thingamajig. LOL!!!! Anyway, I ended up with 2 complete double layer cakes, rather than just 1 simple small cake. No big deal, except for my entire family is on Weight Watchers and we cannot eat that much cake. Each slice is like 12 points of my 28 points I can have a day. Good thing I have crops to attend, friends, friends of the Fire Dept. and neighbors to donate it all too. LOL!!!! Even with all that, I still have half a cake in my refrig. I wonder who else would like some cake........ I think my DH is really loving it. The butter cream icing is his favorite icing of all.
Speaking of Scrapbooking. Look what I made.
Last, but not least, I wanted to share my favorite Weight Watchers recipe. Its very low in points, very filling and very yummy.

I cannot help but wonder what the people would say that threw these pieces away. Just a little gluing, sanding, and painting and that was all it took to turn the old furniture into new furniture. Well I know I am thrilled and so is my little girl. It looks fabulous in her new room. I will take photos of her room as soon as I get the curtains and shelves up. I want it to be completely complete before I show you.
Day 2 of my Weight Watchers is going great. Yesterday, I went over a few of my points that I am allowed, but lucky for me, they give you a point allowance each day. I can have 28 points a day and with my allowance of 5 extra points, I did good!!! My biggest problem yesterday was olive oil on my sub sandwich and eating a whole avocado. 2 very big NO, NO's. So you live and learn and learn and live. Today I knew what I needed to leave off and so this time with my Veggie sub, I left off the oil and mayo and just had vinegar and saved myself about 5 points. That gave me room to have some baked chips with my sandwich which made my meal more filling. Tonight I fixed Meatloaf Muffins. They were so good that I thought I would share the recipe with you.Meatloaf Muffins
1 cup finely crushed fat-free saltine crackers (about 20)
1 cup finely chopped onion
2 tablespoons prepared mustard
1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
2 garlic cloves minced
2 large eggs
1 cup ketchup divided
1 1/2 pounds lean Turkey meat
Directions for Diner Meat Loaf "muffins" (6 Points)Preheat oven to 350. In a large nonstick skillet spray cooking spray. On medium high heat, add chopped onion, dried oregano, and minced garlic; saute 2 minutes. Cool.Combine onion mixture, 1/2 cup ketchup, and the remaining ingredients except cooking spray in a large bowl. Spoon the meat mixture into 12 muffin cups coated with cooking spray. Top each with 2 teaspoons ketchup. Bake at 350 for 25 minutes or until a thermometer registers 160?. Let stand for 5 minutes.
I served my Meat Loaf Muffins with
Macaroni and Cheese made from whole wheat elbow macaroni and 2% cheddar cheese, 2 tablespoon of Smart Balance butter. Very yummy!!!
Also green beans with 1 tablespoon of Smart Balance butter and 2 cloves of fresh garlic and Mrs. Dash garlic and herb seasoning. Love that Mrs. Dash.
I have not figured up my points yet, but I am guessing around 10 for the entire dinner and that includes a piece of 35 calorie bread. I think I may have room for dessert. Let me think......
The latest news in my Scrapbook World is, I have been published in the Cricut Newsletter. http://www.cricut.com/newsletters/volume.aspx?ID=89 I know it does not sound like much, but because they chose my project to highlight, I receive a free Cricut Cartridge. So I am pretty excited. The project I sent in was the Starbook that I posted a few post back. Isn't that just the coolest news.

What a great day it was. I always question myself when it comes to this crop, because I often ask myself is it really worth the 20.00 I spend to go. This time I can actually say that it really was worth the 20.00 and maybe plus more. Will I go back again??? In the past I would say absolutely not, which meant very little, since I always went the next time around anyway. However this time I will say that it all depends on the company I keep and where I sit. One of the things I loved most about this time around, was that we were way over in the corner opposite from those that make my life uncomfortable and crowded. We were able to laugh and be our self without disturbing those around us. So yes, I would go again if the circumstances were the same as they were this time around. It was a completely fun day from the beginning to the very end and the thought of going again is not near as negative as it has been in the past.
That's it for today. Hope all is good in your world!!! Talk with ya very soon!!!
